1. Conductor: Aluminum, alloy 1350, compacted circular stranded (class 2), blocked against longitudinal water penetration

2. Conductor shielding: Semiconductor thermosetting compound in all voltage classes to
ensure perfect distribution of the electric field.

3A. Cover: XLPE 90 °C natural cross-linked polyethylene thermosetting compound, with excellent electrical properties.

3B. Outer cover: High-density polyethylene (HDPE) compound resistant to weathering, electrical sparking, ultraviolet radiation and mechanical abrasion, providing total dielectric compatibility between the cable, spacers and other network accessories.

Note: The two covering layers are completely adhered to each other. The semiconductor layer and the two covering layers are applied simultaneously in a single extrusion process.

Indugrex TR Double Layer Cables are normally supplied in gray.

Applications

Used in overhead power distribution networks at voltages from 15 kV to 35 kV between phases, Indugrex TR Double Layer cable has a cover that is resistant to the weather, ultraviolet radiation, mechanical abrasion and electrical sparking (discharges caused by contact with tree branches and humidity), which makes it an excellent option in places where the cable may come into contact with tree branches, reducing the interval between pruning and increasing system reliability by reducing the number of interruptions. The compactness of the network allows for a better visual appearance and the use of several circuits in a single structure.

Advantages:
Cable covered with high-density polyethylene (HDPE) in the outer layer has the following advantages over cable covered with XLPE:
– greater resistance to electrical sparking;
– greater dielectric compatibility between the cable and compact network accessories;
– greater resistance to abrasion caused by tree branches on the cable cover;
– less moisture absorption;
– better electrical performance, since the cross-linked polyethylene of the inner layer is pure, free of additives.

Packaging

They are usually packed in wooden reels

ABNT NBR 11873 Cables covered with polymeric material for overhead power distribution networks fixed to spacers, with voltages from 13.8 kV to 34.5 kV, where applicable.
