Construction
1.Phase conductor:Bare electrolytic copper, soft temper, flexible stranding: class 5 – sections 35 to 300 mm².
2. Insulation: HEPR high modulus thermoset rubber compound for maximum conductor operating temperature of 90 °C, overload 130 °C and short circuit 250 °C.
3.Symmetrical Neutral Conductor: Bare electrolytic copper, soft temper, flexible stranding.
4. Assembly: the 3 insulated phase conductors are joined together with the 3 neutral conductors, which occupy the spaces between the phase conductors.
5. Shielding: Bare copper tape applied in a helix, with a minimum overlap of 15%, covering 100% of the cable.
6.Cover: Flame-retardant, lead-free PVC ST2 thermoplastic compound in black.
Black veins identified by printed numbers, except for the 3×35+3×6 mm² section cable, which is identified in light blue, black and white.
Applications
VFD CABLES are used in frequency inverter circuits, connecting the motor to the inverter. They are designed for fixed installations and can be installed in trunking, trays, ducts, shelves or directly underground.
Advantages of VFD cables for frequency inverters with symmetrical neutral compared to cables for frequency inverters with concentric neutral:
– Smaller external diameter;
– Lower weight;
– Easier to handle and install;
– Smaller bending radius;
– Better electrical performance due to the greater balance of voltages induced on the neutral, as they are symmetrically arranged to cancel out the induced voltages.
– Suitable for higher power motors.
Packaging
They are usually packed in wooden reels.
Specifications
VFD CABLES meet the requirements of ABNT NBR 7286 – Power cables with extruded ethylene-propylene rubber insulation (EPR, HEPR or EPR 105) for voltages from 1 kV to 35 kV – Performance requirements.
